You will be given a test card to take with you to the KSP testing office, located one door down the hall on the left. Please wait in the hallway quietly until a KSP testing officer calls for you.
Upon passing your written/vision test, you will need to bring your test card and documentation back to the Driver's License Dept. where you will then be issued a driving permit. The cost is $12.
Please click on the menu option under 'Driver's Permit' that applies to your age to view permit restrictions based on age.
If you do not pass your written/vision test, it's okay, KSP will retain your test card and you can come back and retake the test any day of the week during the testing hours listed above.
THERE IS NO LIMIT TO THE NUMBER OF TIMES YOU CAN RETAKE THE WRITTEN / EYE EXAM.
Upon returning to retest, you will not be required to check in at the Driver's License Dept. Since KSP retained your test card, you may report straight to the KSP testing area and wait quietly in the hall until a KSP testing officer calls for you.
