IF YOU DO NOT PASS THE ROAD TEST:

Drivers must wait one week before taking the road test again.

If the driver fails the road test 6 times, they m just wait 6 months before another test will be given.  They will then have only 2 attempts to pass the test.

IF YOU PASS THE ROAD TEST:

UNDER 18

KSP will place an orange 'INTERMEDIATE LICENSE' sticker on the driver's permit.

IMPORTANT:

KSP are the only ones who can give you an orange sticker.  If your intermediate license is lost or stolen and you need to obtain a duplicate intermediate license, you can ONLY do so during KSP business hours which are M-F from 8a-12p, at their office located inside the Justice Center.

After holding the intermediate license for 180 days, or once the driver turns 18 years old, the driver will then be eligible for a full license, provided that the required driver education course has been completed.

OVER 18

Once you pass the road test, bring your permit back to the driver's license department to be issued a full, unrestricted driver's license.
